Guild Mortgage Earns 2024 Military Friendly® Employer Designation

Mortgage Lender Honored for Military-Friendly Policies, Programs and Unwavering Commitment to Supporting Veterans and Their Families

San Diego – Nov. 20, 2023 — Guild Mortgage (NYSE: GHLD), growth-oriented mortgage lending company originating and servicing residential loans since 1960, and its employee resource group (ERG), The Seventh Branch, were awarded the 2024 Military Friendly® Employer designation for policies and programs in support of Veterans and their families.

Institutions earning the Military Friendly® Employer designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. Over twelve hundred companies participated in the 2024 Military Friendly® survey.

“This accolade reflects Guild’s enduring commitment to continually recognize and support our country’s Service Members and their families,” said Terry Schmidt, CEO, Guild Mortgage. “The Military Friendly® employer recognition reaffirms Guild’s ongoing efforts to foster an environment where Veterans not only thrive but also find a sense of purpose and community within our organization. The designation serves as both a milestone and a reminder of the importance of creating a workplace that reflects the diversity and strength of our nation’s heroes.”

Guild was nominated for this designation by its ERG, The Seventh Branch, whose mission is to ensure that America’s Service Members and their families always have a place to call home. The Seventh Branch has successfully advocated for paid Military-related time off for Guild employees, Veterans Day to be recognized as a paid holiday and Military designations to be officially incorporated into Guild company email signature lines. The ERG holds quarterly all-employee meetings as a time to gather, share information and provide education; has donated funds to Military-related nonprofits; and created VA loan trainings for loan officers in order to increase Military homeownership.

“As President of The Seventh Branch Military Employee Resource Group, I am proud to lead a community that prioritizes the well-being and professional growth of our Military-affiliated employees and even more proud to work for an employer that not only values the skills and experiences our Military Service Members, Veterans, and their family members bring to the table, but actively fosters an inclusive and supportive environment for their continued success,” said Kelsey Rasmussen, Sr. Loan Officer, Guild Mortgage. “This designation inspires us to further strengthen our efforts in providing meaningful opportunities and support for those who have served and continue to serve our country.”

Guild Mortgage will be showcased in the list of 2024 Military Friendly® Employers which will be featured in the winter issue of G.I. Jobs® magazine and on MilitaryFriendly.com.

“Organizations earning the Military Friendly® Employers designation have wholeheartedly invested in comprehensive and impactful initiatives that bring about positive, life-changing results for our valued Service Members, dedicated Military spouses, and esteemed Veterans within their ranks,” said Kayla Lopez, senior director of Military partnerships, Military Friendly®. “We salute exemplary employers who raise the bar and understand that hiring Military personnel is not merely an act of goodwill but a testament to a standard that truly embodies sound business wisdom. Their steadfast commitment to integrating Military personnel into their workforce not only reflects their compassion but also underscores their business acumen.”
