Guild Giving Foundation donates $440,000 in funds raised at annual charity golf tournament
San Diego – February 18, 2025 – The Guild Giving Foundation, a nonprofit organization created by Guild Mortgage Company to deliver on its commitment to encourage volunteerism, inspire change and strengthen communities, recently presented $440,000 to two local San Diego charities and two nation-wide charities from funds raised during its sixth annual Guild Giving Charity Golf Tournament, Auction and Dinner Social.
Proceeds from the October 2024 golf event were presented in December to charities serving the San Diego community, including $190,000 to MyPath2Own, $100,000 to Home Start, $100,000 to the Urban Corps and $50,000 to MBA Open Doors Foundation.
“Guild Mortgage has called the San Diego area ‘home’ for 65 years and one thing that hasn’t changed since 1960 is our dedication to support this community, and the communities across the country that we now represent,” said Terry Schmidt, Guild Mortgage CEO. “The Guild Giving Foundation and its events truly enable us to support and expand the positive impact of non-profits who work tirelessly to support those in need.” The annual Guild golf fundraising event has sold out each year since its establishment and has raised more than $2.8 million for important causes such as homelessness and education for disadvantaged youth.
